Robert Kumar

Robert works as Deputy Director, Community health and Development, with Emmanuel Hospital Association and is currently based in Herbertpur. His role in the organization is to engage with the poor and disadvantaged communities to empower them in decision-making and in leading the development process for their own communities

Having worked in this field for the last 25 years, Robert initiated the disability program in EHA and disability services in Herbertpur, whilst also serving as the secretary of Community Health Global Network (CHGN) in Uttarakhand. CHGN is a network of 52 Christian organizations working in the field of health and development.

For the last 5 years Robert has also been involved in motivating local churches to be involved with their local community and to practice integral mission in reality.

Robert writes: “After attending a workshop and the international gathering in the UK, I recognised how important it is to be engaged in discipling intentionally not just accidentally. The interaction and regular communication helped me to evaluate and examine myself that I need to be a disciple first and be more practical as a Christian. It has changed the way I read the Bible. It has equipped me to engage with local churches with more effectiveness. Today I facilitate 2 huddle groups in my community where I live, and I am also responsible for equipping church leaders for integral mission and am a member of HI72.”

Robert has two children – a daughter, Neharika Robert, who is 24 years old and has completed her bachelors in psychology from University of Indiana, USA and a son,  Anugrah, who is now 21 years and was born with cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user.

Rev. Samit Kumar Mishra

Secretary & National Coordinator

Samit entered into Christian ministry with lots of zeal and enthusiasm. The vision was very clear, “Make disciples.” However, as the time passed by this vision was lost, though the zeal and enthusiasm remain the same. He found himself being satisfied and proud in fulfilling routine ministerial responsibilities. Everything was fine, he was happy with the results and achievements of the ministry, until he was challenged to first be a disciple, before a pastor or Christian leader.

This happened in 2016 when he first participated in a Learning Community, where he encountered the secret of “Making disciples.” His vision was renewed: “Be a disciple to make disciples.” For the last many years, he says he had missed this truth of Jesus – only the disciples make disciples.  The simple tools  have of helped a lot in maintaining identity and responsibility balance, stopping and listening to God’s voice, inviting people to life to share in everything, challenging them to develop character and competency. The list can go on. The simple methods of Jesus’ discipleship have brought many changes in life, family and ministry.

Samit is married to Varsha Mishra (a teacher) and is blessed with two children : Shreyanshi Mishra (studying in 11th ) and Samarpit Mishra, age 9.

Rev. Edwin Singh

Administrator & South India Coordinator

Edwin is the pastor of Grace Reformed Fellowship, Bangalore and an ordained minister of Anugraha Reformed Presbyterian Churches. Previously, he was involved in training church planters across India. Edwin is happily married to Sherly and they have two children: Doxa and Jonathan.

The discipleship training helped to me understand the importance of being a disciple by working together, sharing responsibility and investing in other with openness.

Rev. Lalngailien Puruolte

North East India Coordinator

Since 2009,  Lalngailien has been engaging in different areas of pastoral ministries. His area of ministry depends on the decision of the organization he is working with. Until 2017 he was a field worker, engaged in evangelism.

During those years of ministries he says he focused mainly on mass spiritual revival. To this point, he found himself satisfied seeing when people were moved and spiritually revived. But the reviving period which was temporal was always a big question, over again and again.

The answer came after attending training on missional discipleship, later participating and joining in the journey.

This model of discipleship gives clear and new visions and challenges. With these new visions and challenges, Lalngailien restarts his pastoral duties and responsibilities with new methods and strategies. It has lots of positive impacts in personal life, family as well as the ministries of the church as a whole.

Roseline Rozario Kanchi

Team Member

Roseline writes: “I am an ordinary Indian girl Roseline chosen by my extra ordinary Lord Jesus. In his mercy and grace, I am made unique and priceless.

As the Bible says in Luke 14:25-26, decide if you can follow me. The cost of being a disciple, being in HI72 team of India and in the discipleship movement, I know the value who I am in Jesus and he loves me.

No matter what my situation was when I got rooted with God and his word through discipling, I learned not just to survive but strive.

In such a diverse country where there are many God’s, beliefs, and ways of worship discipling the people by being a disciple first is putting God into practice and listen to god and respond with obedience.

The beauty of being in this movement is, God has helped me through to the faithful available, teachable as a good servant for his people.

I thank my heavenly Father for choosing me, to be a part of his plentiful harvest and moulding me as a clay by being my potter.”
